This piece was manufactured by the firm E. Borderel et Robert and was exhibited by Subes at the 1925 Paris Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes. It is also illustrated in a contemporary advert for Borderel et Robert in Mobilier & Décoration, February 1928.
